About

Welcome! Site is still under progress, but basically it’s a compendium of photos taken with my cheap point and shoot camera of Buddhist temples, monasteries, pagodas, retreat centers, meditation halls, university groups, mindfulness gatherings, public talks, and other Buddhist-related or Buddhist-inspired events with a focus on the South but throughout our wonderful country… and a few from other countries as well! Basically, a look at how Buddhism attempts to take root in the Western Hemisphere outside its ancestral birthplace and historical strongholds throughout Asia.

A couple representative photos are shown, then to see the complete album click on the link below each place. Note: Google Photos defaults to “Highlights” only, so to see the full album, be sure to click on “ALL PHOTOS” tab on the top left after you open the album.

The pages are sorted by location

or by predominant language/ethnic heritage, though many of these places of course use English or multiple languages or are too diverse to really fit into one category, but that was just a convenient way of sorting
