Ever wanted to experience life in a rural Asian Buddhist monastery? Need to calm your mind or develop wisdom through intensive meditation or chanting, under the guidance of fully ordained monks and nuns? For those interested, here are some upcoming retreats over the winter holidays in some of the largest non-profit Mahayana Buddhist temples in the United States, that are open to lay people (men and women). Locations in rural New York, California, Texas, and Mississippi, most spanning hundreds of acres.
